Supervisor training at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy
To be approved as a principal supervisor, you must have completed both the Supervisor Information Day and an ethics course. A certificate of completion of both must be attached to the application documents.
Supervisor’s Information Day
The Supervisor’s Information Day is a full day organised twice a year and always given in English. The day is mandatory for principal supervisors of doctoral studies in medical and pharmaceutical sciences. It is also highly recommended for assistant supervisors.
To be approved, complete attendance is required. A certificate of attendance will be issued.

Research ethics course
In addition to approved participation in the supervisor information, as a first-time principal supervisors at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy you must have completed the web-based course “Research Ethics for Postdocs and Researchers in Medicine”.
The course is developed jointly by the seven faculties of medicine in Sweden and recommended for all researchers employed at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Course in supervising doctoral students
The course Supervising Doctoral Students is three weeks long and given by the Academic Teaching and Learning Unit at the Division for Quality Enhancement.
