The logo
The logo is a registered trademark and must not be manipulated. The seal and the text “Uppsala universitet” together comprise the Uppsala University logo in both national and international contexts.
- The logo exists only in Swedish.
- The name “Uppsala universitet” and the seal must not be separated.
- The logo in a label may no longer be used.
The logo exists in three versions:
- red seal with black text
- black seal with black text
- white seal with white text.

How to insert the logo in your Word or PowerPoint document
Download the ZIP file and extract it.
Mac
Open the document in Word or PowerPoint where the logo is wanted.
- In the upper menu bar, select the Insert tab
- Click the Illustrations button
- Click the Pictures button
- Click Picture from file…
- Select the EPS file that you downloaded
- Click Insert
- Done
PC
Open the document in Word or PowerPoint where the logo is wanted.
- In the upper menu bar, select the Insert tab
- Click the Pictures button
- Select the SVG file that you downloaded
- Click Insert
- Done
Choose the logo that goes best with the background. Make sure there is a clear contrast. On a page/surface with colour pictures we use a black seal with black text.
Clear zone
The logo has a margin, a ‘clear zone’. No visual elements (image, text, etc.) may be placed inside this area.
Logo placement
The logo is the sender. The logo is placed in the bottom right-hand corner.
Exceptions: If a page or surface only contains the logo, the logo is placed in the centre.
On stationery, such as letterhead, the logo is placed in the top left-hand corner.
In exceptional cases, following approval from the Communications Division, the logo can be placed bottom centre, top centre or bottom left.
The seal as a decorative element
- The seal can be used in cropped form as a decorative element, as shown in these examples, but only in combination with the complete logo.
- The seal is only used in 5 per cent black.
- The seal is placed top right or bottom left.
