Communications support

Plan and analyse your need for an informational effort. Ask yourself a few questions before you begin.

Why?
It is important to formulate a goal and a purpose for your information effort. If you fail to do so, it can be a dear-bought experience. What do you actually want to achieve? Analyse your message. What do you want to say? Is one thing more important than another?

Who?
Analyse the target group for your message – i.e. decide who or what you are addressing. Tailor your message to your recipient. See things from the recipient’s perspective. Try to imagine what kind of use the recipient will make of your message. What do you want the recipient to do/think/feel?

How?
Analyse which information channels you should use. Think about how you can best reach your target: with printed matter, an advertisement, a poster, and exhibition, on the web or using a combination of different channels? Consider what would be the most effective means of putting across your particular message.

Cost?
Plan the budget for your information effort. Consider whether the effect will justify the cost. Analyse alternative options.
