The University's digital alumni system – a service

The digital alumni system provides the following information about members:

• Contact details
• Education history at Uppsala University
• Memberships of associations within the Alumni Network
• Employment status and position details
• Whether the alumn is open to guest lecturing or becoming a mentor

The system is integrated with Ladok, which ensures that information about what members have studied is always trustworthy. The system is also connected to the Swedish population register which means address information is always correct for members based in Sweden. Deceased alumni are automatically removed from the system as well as any alumni with protected identities.

It is important that we are able to communicate with members, which is why the Alumni Team routinely contacts members whose e-mails bounce by post, asking them to update their contact details. Those who do not update their details have their membership removed from the network.

There is no charge for alumni associations to use Uppsala University’s digital alumni system for their member registers.

The system processes the personal data of the alumni in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation. When an alumnus/alumna joins the network, they consent to the processing of their personal data in accordance with the GDPR.
