The Faculty of Social Sciences
“Social sciences” is a broad term ranging from politics and sociology to advanced computer systems and dietetics. At this faculty, research is conducted in several different areas such as economic, economic history, government, psychology, and peace and conflict to name a few.
The research helps us to explain and understand the consequences of humans interacting in different parts of society, and provides tools for consciously shaping our society.

The Faculty of Educational Sciences
Research in educational sciences is central to the development of methods and tools for teachers and other professional practitioners in teaching and education. In other words, research in educational sciences involves studies about liberal education, education, teaching, child raising, and learning.
At this faculty, the research primarily involves fields relevant for understanding children, conditions for adolescents and adults, and conditions for learning.

The Faculty of Theology
Here research is carried out concerning, amongst other issues, classic theological and ecclesiological questions, assimilation processes amongst Swedish immigrants and biblical interpretation and fiction.
The faculty of theology also studies the meeting between science and religion, ritual and mental health in a secularised Sweden, theological and philosophical aspects of animal rights ethics and religion and welfare.

The Faculty of Arts
In the humanities, approaches may differ, but human beings, human products and human cultures are always central.
The research at this faculty aims to provide insight into how our attitudes and our knowledge are tied up with our time and our environment and also an understanding of the human and cultural aspects of societal development.
