The Faculty of Arts
At Uppsala University research within the Faculty of Arts aims to provide insights into how our attitudes and our knowledge are connected to our time and our environment, and also an understanding of the human and cultural aspects of societal development.
The faculty conducts teaching and research in a wide range of philosophical, historical, anthropological and aesthetic subjects.
The unique aspect of research in Uppsala is that it nurtures an interdisciplinary interest in information and knowledge infrastructures, collections and societal memory from the vantage point of the changing premises, patterns and practices of their making, organisation, management and use from historical and contemporary perspectives.
