As an employee at Uppsala University you can enjoy free admissions to museums and gardens run by the University.

The Museum of Evolution

The Museum of Evolution is a traditional natural history museum. The collections have been built up by researchers from Uppsala University since the 17th century. The museum hosts the largest collection of genuine dinosaur skeletons in Scandinavia.

Gustavianum - The Uppsala University Museum

Gustavianum is Uppsala University's oldest surviving building. It was built in the 1620s and housed lecture halls, a library, student accommodation, student kitchens and much more. Since 1997, Gustavianum is a public museum where the University's magnificent cultural heritage collections are displayed.

The Museum of Medical History

The Museum of Medical History reflects the art of medicine from ancient times to the present, displaying instruments, devices and stories from most of the medical specialties. It tells the story of pharmacy, the Uppsala University Hospital, psychiatry and nursing.

Linnaeus’ Hammarby

The summer house of Carl Linnaeus, Linnaeus’ Hammarby built in 1762, lies embedded in an extensive agricultural landscape. Linneaeus' Hammarby eflects the private life of Linnaeus as well as his scientific work, and today few Swedish manors present such an authentic milieu.

The Linnaeus Garden

The Linnaeus Garden was the first botanical garden in Sweden founded in 1655 by polymath and Professor of Medicine, Olof Rudbeck the elder. Today, approximately 1,000 species are cultivated here. All of them are known to have been cultivated by Linnaeus and are arranged according to his sexual system.

The Tropical Greenhouse

The Tropical Greenhouse in the Botanical Garden is home to plants originating in warmer climates than that of Sweden. Here you will find plants from deserts, rainforests, steppes and savannahs. You can stroll among orchids, lianas, palms and carnivorous plants.
