About the Department of Law

The Department of Law, Juridicum, employs over 200 people, including more than 100 researchers and teachers, some 60 doctoral students and other staff in its centrally located premises. Over the years, research and education at Juridicum have grown and strengthened, and today there are significant research and teaching activities in a large number of subjects.

A strong research environment and extensive international cooperation are important prerequisites for the appreciated educational model that has made the law programme in Uppsala one of the most popular programmes in Scandinavia. Thanks to the participation of all prominent researchers in the teaching, the programme is of a very high standard. The research also benefits from the input and critical questioning provided by the students.
