Research on higher education and research is carried out both at the center and at other departments at Uppsala University.
Research profile
HERO has a network of affiliated researchers from variety of different disciplines as well as a Scientific Council.
The research conducted at the center and within the research network can be divided into five main themes:
- Academic freedom, autonomy, governance and organization.
- The economics of higher education and research.
- Teacher and student recruitment.
- Research on scientific disciplines and interdisciplinarity as well as on knowledge production and scientific publishing.
- Internationalization of higher education and research.
