EIT Culture and Creativity

EIT Culture and Creativity is an EU initiative on culture and creative industries. The aim is to support collaborations between education, research, and businesses to strengthen Europe's competitiveness. The idea is that by investing in culture and creative industries, one also contributes to a better society. EIT Culture and Creativity started in 2022, and Uppsala University is one of the leading partners. About fifty European actors from academia, civil society organizations, and businesses are involved in the collaboration.

EIT Culture and Creativity is what is known as a KIC: Knowledge and Innovation Community. A KIC aims to stimulate an industry by financing various types of knowledge-intensive and innovative collaboration projects. The EU's investment in EIT Culture and Creativity means that project funds will be announced for various initiatives within culture and creative industries over a long period.
