More people want to study at Uppsala University this autumn

The applications to higher education in the autumn are now in. The total number of unique applicants to Uppsala University is 89,622, an inccent compared with the previous year. The Law Programme has the highest number of applicants, followed by the Medicine Programme and the Bachelor Programme in Business and Economics.

“It is gratifying that Uppsala University continues to be one of Sweden’s most attractive higher education institutions. We are particularly pleased this year that our new Occupational Therapist Programme had over 400 applicants,” says Joachim Ekström, Head of Student Recruitment at Uppsala University.

More than 405,552 people across the country applied to programmes and courses – up by more than 30,000, or nearly eight percent, compared with autumn semester 2023.

Uppsala University has attracted a total of 89,622 applicants, 5.5 percent higher than the number of applicants for autumn semester 2023, which was 84,919. The number of unique applicants to Campus Gotland was 13,587, down 3.7 percent compared with autumn semester 2023.

The University is offering a total of 2,270 application options (courses and programmes) for the coming autumn semester, as against 2,265 for autumn semester 2023. The number of application options belonging to Campus Gotland is 223 for autumn semester 2024, compared with 225 for autumn 2023.

Bachelor’s Programme in Business and Economics (5,013 applicants)
Psychology Programme (3,759 applicants)
Nursing Programme (3,494 applicants)
