Immunotherapy is a new weapon against cancer. Angelica Loskog’s research group has developed a virus that can penetrate cancer cells and activate the immune defence.

Research on immunotherapies against cancer has a twenty-year history at Uppsala University. The first clinical study began back in 2006. Angelica Loskog’s research group has tested the therapy on patients with pancreatic cancer in the US. Two studies are in progress in Sweden, one on mixed cancers and one on malignant melanoma. In the film, Angelica Loskog explains how immunotherapy works.
